Part of my 26th birthday present was receiving tickets to see one of my favorite bands, Mumford and Sons. Dan and I have grown to love this band immensely and were incredibly excited to finally get to see them live!
....Until I realized I would be almost 8 months pregnant when we went. Then I panicked a bit--Will the noise hurt the baby? Where will I sit? (we got standing tickets near the front of the stage). Will I get uncomfortable?
We did research and talked to my doctor, who did okay the concert, and decided to go for it! We ended up having a really great time, except for a few small things that come with being 5'2", very pregnant, and drinking a lot of water before the show. I, of course, had to squeeze my way out of the crowd to pee, which was not my favorite part of the night.
As I stood there, uncomfortable from standing, tired, and slightly claustrophobic, I made a mental note to push all of that aside and try to truly be present with where I was (seeing one of the best bands ever!) and who I was with (the best husband ever). Their show was amazing and even had me almost crying at one point. Although the night was long, and our bodies were tired, we lasted and had a blast while doing it. We continue to cherish these special moments together, just the two of us. We will always love going to concerts together, but this one seemed especially important and meaningful.
Oh and p.s. Baby loved the show I"m pretty sure. At one point he was hiccuping ...to the beat of the song Lover of the Light. It was so funny and had me smiling.
