On Saturday we took Noah to his very first baseball game at Camden Yards. It was the PERFECT night for an evening game--gorgeous weather, a fun crowd, and.....our team won, so that's always good. While we were both nervous about whether or not Noah would like the loud noises, crowds, and being up past his bed time, he was such a champ and did great. In a stadium filled with I don't know, maybe 25,000 people, our baby fell asleep right at his typical bedtime! It was unreal. He woke up to the loud sound of people screaming as the "wave" went around the stadium and made the most hilarious/confused face...."what is going on?" "why am I not in my dark room with the sound machine blaring?". Poor baby.
But seriously, he did great and we had a blast. It's fun when you realize that you don't have to be "stuck" in your house each night by 8pm and that your baby IS able to do things sometimes that don't always coincide with "bedtime".
I will admit that I'm not a die hard fan of baseball, however there is something quite "All American" about summer nights, Cracker Jacks, baseball, and "the wave"....and we definitely embraced this time with our families. We are already trying to plan when we can go to another (hopefully playoff) game.
