Just Dance!

The other day the weather was a bit wet and humid, so Noah and I stayed inside most of the afternoon. After he seemed to get restless and bored doing his normal "playtime" activities I tried to get creative and think of something new we could do. I've come to realize that our boy is easy to please and loves the simple things like just walking around the house, looking at himself in the mirror, and laying on our bed looking at his "favorite" pictures... but sometimes, even these things just won't do it for him and I have to think of something new to try. So here comes dancing...

I LOVE to dance. I danced for 10 years and still to this day, if I hear a good beat, cannot help but move my body a little. Even when I exercise, my "go to" work out will always be a dancing cardio class over a treadmill any day. So back to dancing....Well, I decided to strap Noah into his bjorn carrier, turn on some music, and have a little dance party around the house. You may laugh, picturing me dancing around the house with Noah, but he really enjoyed it. He stopped fussing immediately, smiled, and, get this, fell asleep like 10 minutes into the dancing. Since there is no easy way to detach the straps on the carrier without waking him, I just enjoyed having my sleepy baby laying on me for the next 45 minutes. People have told me to put him down...that I will spoil him... but honestly, why not spoil a baby at this age? And is it really "spoiling"  if I hold him, something that I instinctively and naturally want to do and that he likes? At least for now, I am soaking up every little bit of this stage because he is getting more squirmy and big, making these sweet moments of closeness slightly more difficult and all the more special to me.

All that to say... deciding to just dance with Noah was such a fun and great decision. Here are two pictures of our dance party. You will notice that he seemed to have just as much fun (if not more) chewing on the bjorn carrier as he did dancing :)
